The successful applicant for this position will be responsible for the design and development of business-critical dashboards and reports and will play an integral role in the implementation of these, as well as driving forward a data driven decision making approach.



The Data, Analytics & Business Intelligence division plays a critical role across all divisions of the organization and is an integral part of the overall growth plan and aspirations of the C-Suite. Role: Senior Retail Application Engineer
Location: 100% Remote (Anywhere in the US)

Salary: Ideally $150-170k

Role Overview:
As a Senior Retail Application Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and developing key retail applications, leveraging expertise in Universe technology and working with omnichannel POS systems. Your role will involve integrating APIs, managing retail application processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth retail operations and system functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

* Utilize strong experience in Universe technology (a sub-technology of MultiValue) to develop and maintain retail applications.
* Integrate APIs using REST and SOAP to facilitate seamless communication between retail systems.
* Work with Java and C# for application development and enhancements.
* Participate in troubleshooting, performance optimization, and issue resolution for retail applications.
* Collaborate with business and technical teams to enhance retail systems and ensure high availability and reliability.
* Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members as needed.

Key Technical Must-Haves:

* Strong and recent experience with Universe (a sub-technology of MultiValue).
* Experience with API Integration (REST & SOAP).
* General knowledge of Java & C#.

Nice-to-Have Experience:

* Experience with retail and omnichannel POS systems.

Qualifications:

* Proven experience working with retail applications and supporting enterprise-level systems.
* Solid understanding of integration patterns, APIs, and service-oriented architectures.
* Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

One of my Finland-based clients is looking for a freelance lead fullstack developer to help push the development of their product forward. This is a largely remote role, minimum 12 month contract with a high likelihood for extension. Finnish speaking is a MANDATORY requirement for this project.

In terms of experience, the client is looking for 5+ years (ideally nearer 10 years) experience in Microsoft stack technologies, including: .NET/C#, React, Next.js, Azure DevOps (CI/CD pipelines), REST APIs, and broad Azure expertise.

The client is looking for someone who can actively take responsibility for development and play a key role in technical decision making. Also, they're looking for someone who can communicate effectively with both customers and the internal team, instructing and guiding the team where necessary.
